Ingalls Excellence Awards
Eligibility: All active Ingalls employees, including salaried professionals, craftsmen and women, and eligible teams, may be nominated. Nominees must be in good standing and demonstrate behaviors aligned with company values.

Nomination Process: Nominations may be self-submitted, submitted by peers, supervisors, managers or cross-functional partners. All sections of the application must be complete. Supporting evidence such as metrics, testimonials, safety records, cost savings, schedule recovery or customer feedback is encouraged.

Award Categories

Safety Champion

Recognizes the individual or team who, beyond their daily job responsibilities, exemplifies an outstanding commitment to safety, honors safety as a core value, proactively identifies hazards, and improves safe work practices. The safety champion award acknowledges transformational actions that helps ensure every shipbuilder goes home safely every day and that our shipyard is as strong and safe as the ships we build.

Integrity & Ethics in Action

Honors a shipbuilder who demonstrates unwavering honesty, accountability and courage in doing the right thing—even when it is difficult, unpopular or unseen. The Integrity & Ethics in Action award acknowledges a shipbuilder who sets the standard for ethical behavior with specific practices.

Performance, Process Innovation & Improvement

Recognizes a person or team whose ideas, systems or process improvements drive measurable gains in efficiency, quality, cost savings, schedule or workforce effectiveness. The PPII award recognizes a monumental shift in status quo that has resulted in higher level performance and output and throughput.

Leadership & Engagement

Honors a leader or teammate who builds trust, strengthens culture, develops others and creates an environment where shipbuilders feel informed, connected and empowered. The Leadership & Engagement Award acknowledges a commitment to improving workplace culture on a large scale through leadership by example beyond his or her every day job responsibilities.

Warfighter Mission Impact

Recognizes the shipbuilder whose work most clearly advances readiness, capability and mission success for the men and women who depend on our ships. The Warfighter Mission Impact award celebrates a “Do what is right for the warfighter” mentality and uncompromising pattern of behavior that yields high quality production on behalf of those who serve on our ships.

Craft Excellence

Honors a craftsman, craftswoman or technical professional who demonstrates exceptional skill, precision, workmanship and pride in building world-class ships. The Craft Excellence award celebrates a shipbuilder who leads by example, produces first-time quality work and fosters a culture of excellence on the deck plate.
